Gas code in Nunavut

Nunavut has adopted Current CSA B149.1 edition by rolling adoption (CSA B149.1:25, 17th edition) (Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code). The adopting authority is Government of Nunavut — Community and Government Services, Safety Services Division (Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Gas Safety), under the Gas Protection Act. Nunavut's Gas Protection Regulations enumerate CAN/CGA B149.1-M95 (and B149.2-M95) but define 'Code' as the national code 'as amended from time to time' and provide (s.4) that any amendment, variation or new edition has the same force and effect as the original — an ambulatory/rolling-incorporation mechanism, so the edition in force is effectively the current published CSA B149.1 (the 2025 edition, B149.1:25). A 2025 amendment (R-045-2025) further updated these regulations. Confidence: moderate — the rolling-adoption clause is clear in the official text, but the regulations still cite the 1995 base edition and the precise practical enforcement edition should be confirmed with GN gas safety.
