Fire code in Yukon

Yukon has adopted 2020 (NFC 2020), via ambulatory adoption (National Fire Code of Canada (NFC)). The adopting authority is Office of the Fire Marshal, Government of Yukon (Fire Prevention Act / Fire Safety Regulation, 2015). Verified June 28, 2026.

Yukon adopts the National Fire Code of Canada under the Fire Prevention Act and the Fire Safety Regulation, 2015 (YOIC 2015/252), which references the National Fire Code of Canada (base text the 2010 edition) 'as amended or replaced from time to time' (ambulatory), making the current published edition, NFC 2020, the in-force version. Because adoption is ambulatory, no specific effective date is pinned for the 2020 edition.
